Starting Dec. 1 we will go to winter hours, Tuesday 10-12 and Thursday 1-3.
We are celebrating! Happy 1st Birthday to Karren’s Clothing Cupboard. This past year has been one of transition, challenges, and growth. We have experimented with what we can do, what doesn’t work and how to make us better. Last December, our first month opened we saw 5 shoppers, this past July, August, and September we saw 74 shoppers, shopping for 91 adults and 102 children, and that doesn’t include the children that got clothing at the free lunch program at Thorne Street during the summer. This is all possible through the members of our congregation, you and the community that have heard about us and donated a lot of beautiful clothing and all the wonderful volunteers. Thank you all. We once again are in a good place as far as clothing is concerned. The items that we need currently are coats, please no wool or dry clean only, children’s clothing especially larger size boys clothing, jeans especially small men’s, and men’s boots. (Please no socks at this time) Currently we will not be accepting any clothing other than from church members. It would be greatly appreciated if you could bring things that are seasonal. Please only bring things to the cupboard when we are open, people are putting bags and boxes of clothing in the hallway blocking the emergency exit. Sign up for December is in the entranceway.
Thanks to all those who volunteer.
